Below is a link to a story to support your child on their journey back into the classroom. please take some time to read with your child before they come back into school.

Back to school story

We hope you find this useful in supporting you and your child with their learning. On our school website, Facebook page and through Twitter we have already shared many websites, which are freely available, to engage children with a range of enjoyable activities linked to their learning.

Thank you for your messages via Tapestry. It’s lovely to hear from you and to see pictures of all you have been doing. Please contact us through Tapestry with any questions you may have or just to share with us your learning and the activities you have completed.

Please stay safe and keep well.

Please be aware that if your child has Special Educational Needs there is an additional Homelearning for SEN support and resources tab on our website page. This is below the other Homelearning tabs. Thank you

Our Topic For Summer 2 is The Seaside

We are starting our topic by looking at the story "Sharing a Shell" by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks.

below are  links to a video of the story and also the Sharing a Shell Song that you could sing along with.

making puppets of the characters from the story is such a fun thing to do and it really helps the children to internalise the story and become so familiar with it that when they come to write about it the job is much easier to do!
Maybe you could have a go at creating your own puppets of the characters.

Week commencing 8th June 2020

I would like you to have a go at making your own Snail like the one in the picture to link to the story ‘Sharing a Shell’. You could do lots of maths with this as you could count how many dot you do to make your snail, you could talk about the colours you use and maybe make a repeating pattern. I would love to see your snails!!

I would like you to have a go at creating your own rock pool art picture. You could talk about what you might find in there!

I have also added a list of tricky words I would like the children to learn to read

Here I have posted a picture of some seaside words. I would like you to have a chat with your child/children and see how many they know and what they can tell you about them.

Today’s activity is another maths based activity.

You could say a number and ask your child/children to draw the correct number  of ice cream sccops or you could draw the scoops and ask your child/children to count them. You could look at repeating patterns again and or anything you like really!

Have fun x
