Hello Year 3! 😊

Firstly, and most importantly, I hope you are all well and taking care.

On our school website, Facebook page and through Twitter we have already shared many websites, that are freely available, to engage children with a range of enjoyable activities linked to their learning.

Please remember you can always contact me through Class Dojo (if you do not have your log in for this, please contact school) and children, we can email through Purple Mash. Please send me pictures of your learning as I would love to see what you are up to at home.

Please stay safe.

I shall set 2-3 pieces of Maths home learning on Mathletics every Monday. You can also access the resource booklets. Please may you focus on the ‘Multiplication and Division’

workbook for the next two weeks.

To access these booklets, click on Learn/Select a Topic/on the righthand side of the screen scroll down and you will see a workbook. Series D corresponds to Year 3. You can print these, or just use them on the screen and write your answers down in the workbook you were given.

The Royal Mint are also getting involved by creating a kids Hub! there are some great activities, some coin related some not, for the children to do. check out the link below!!

Reading - Please read daily. Audible (online service) are making hundreds of children's books available for free whilst you are stuck at home.

We had also started reading Charlotte’s Web in class. Unfortunately, we only managed to read part of this.

Here is a link to the story for you to read at home:

Please reread chapters 1 and 2 this week and I have attached a link to some learning for this below./admin/cms/uploaded_images/Charlotte's Web Chapters 1 and 2.pdf

Please practise your spellings daily.

We were learning all about endangered animals in class. Please pick an endangered animal, research it and produce a non-chronological report all about it.

Some subheadings you could include are appearance, habitat, diet, why it is endangered and how we can save it.

Illustration and captions would be great.

Please take a picture and send me your finished reports on Class Dojo for me to see.

In Science, we have been studying forces and magnets.

Please find a range of at least 10 objects at home and group them under the headings- magnetic, or not magnetic. Please send me a picture of your findings on Class Dojo.

Please explore ‘Lesson 5’ from the Twinkl ‘Forces and Magnets Year 3’ unit about the different poles of a magnet and ‘Lesson 6’: https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/tp2-s-157-planit-science-year-3-forces-and-magnets-unit-pack

Please use BBC Bitesize and the internet to research what the Romans did for us and create a poster about this in your exercise book.

Here are some Spanish games to play: https://takelessons.com/blog/Spanish-websites-for-kids-z03

Joe Wicks does a daily workout at 9am.

Twinkl are also providing a daily timetable for children with a variety of activities and links.

I am also setting activities on Purple Mash.
